We collect only what we need to run Meme IDIATOR. We do not sell your personal information.
What we collect
- Account: your email, password (stored scrambled, nobody can read it), name and username.
- What you post and do: memes and captions, comments, likes, who you follow, and reports you send. Memes, comments, likes, follows, your name and username are public.
- Pro plan: your plan, status and renewal date. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see them.
- Removal requests: the name, email and details you put in the Report content form.
- Visits (only if you accept cookies): pages viewed and general device information, through Google Analytics.
- Ads: Google shows ads on some pages and may use cookies and device information to choose and measure them.
Memes you make but do not publish stay in your browser; we do not receive them.
Why we use it
To run your account, show your memes, process payments, keep the site safe (filtering pictures, handling reports and legal requests, stopping abuse), answer you, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Who helps us
- Supabase: hosts the database, accounts and pictures.
- Stripe: processes Pro payments.
- Sightengine: checks pictures for nudity, violence and hate before they are published.
- Google Analytics: visit statistics, only after you accept cookies.
- Google AdSense: shows the ads that help keep Meme IDIATOR free. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads at Google Ads Settings, and learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
We may share information when the law requires it, for example reporting child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Cookies and storage
We keep you logged in and save the meme you are working on with your browser's storage. Analytics cookies are used only if you choose Accept in the cookie banner; you can change your choice from the link at the bottom of the home page. Ad cookies are set by Google; visitors in places that require it (for example the European Union and the United Kingdom) are asked for consent by Google's own consent message first.
How long we keep it
While your account is open. Deleted memes and comments are removed right away. Records of legal requests and bans are kept as long as needed to deal with them and to stop repeat abuse.
Your choices
You can delete your memes and comments at any time. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and everything in it, write to support@memeidiator.com from your account email. Depending on where you live (for example Washington or California) you may have additional rights; we honor them the same way.
Children
Meme IDIATOR is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will post any changes here and update the date at the top.
